Is a UHF radio the same as a VHF radio used in the Americas? Would a UHF work in the Americas on a boat?

UHF = ultra-high frequency = frequency range from 300 MHz to 3 GHz
VHF = very-high frequency = frequency range from 30 MHz to 300 MHz

Marine VHF radios in the Americas operate on specific channels between 156 MHz and 162.5 MHz. There are no primary allocations in the United States for marine radios at UHF, although UHF portables are often used dockside. The main frequency range typically referred to as UHF in the Americas is 450-470 MHz, but those frequencies are allocated to business users, public safety agencies, etc. Attempting to use in the Americas a UHF radio from another part of the world would be a bad idea, as it could easily end up interfering with local police, fire, ambulance, etc. communications, which would be likely to bring swift enforcement action from the U.S. federal government.

So, no, a UHF radio is not the same as a VHF radio, and no, a UHF radio would not be suitable for use in the Americas on a boat. VHF marine radios are mass produced and preprogrammed to the standard channel assignments, so they may be obtained quite inexpensively.

We had a few flakes of snow last week that dances in the foreground, a bitter cold of Canada that froze most of the U.S.. The sight of a few flakes of snow in my garden, I had no desire to go to the beach! But since it's still cold in most parts of the sandy shores of my area, I did the next best option. I went to a huge boat show last weekend and I took my wife, who wants to share something special with it. Big mistake!

It is the dream of a fisherman to be surrounded by all types of fishing boat you can imagine. Even if you are not one who likes to put a hook in the water, bring a friend with you and you will have plenty of fun, if for no other reason than to shake his head and winced at the price of participating in some of the boats on display.

If however, you is a real fisherman, and enjoy all types of freshwater fishing, there is a boat for you no matter what your preference. There are fishing boats, Jon boats, boats, flat-bottomed boats, inflatable boats, pontoon boats and boats that are so ridiculous that he wondered why even be allowed in the water.

Fishing is supposed to be fun. It is always nice for me because I did not deliberately make an effort to fish exclusively for bass, so it really does not need high technology, super serious boat powerful. By nature I am a lazy man's fishing and largemouth bass or smallmouth bass seems too much work, they prefer a simple kind of fishing vessels. Projects recreation that require more than minimal effort and are expensive to conduct, generally are cleared from my list of things I enjoy doing.

I was not really in the market for a new boat, but the more I wandered the aisles, captivated by the latest technology in navigation, more of my old boat looked like a relic! Unfortunately, my wife was not experiencing the same vibrations that had me salivating when I saw a beautiful 21foot boat with everything a fisherman could want.

My days of investing big money is a ship gone. I read somewhere that a boat is a hole in the water in which waste of money. I have had several boats and be that the statement to be true. It only cost me drooling over $ 48, 582.00. My wife was not so happy after seeing the price tag.

If spending a huge amount of money on something you purchase around the river faster, then some of the big boats that entered the market are just what you need to become a big hole in your wallet! Some of the ships that will take him up and down the river in search of the elusive low hit the roof more than $ 50,000.00! for a dollar a pound of fish, which should take 50,000 fish to the boat to be economically viable!

Do not really want a new boat, I decided to test the boat to buy the water, trying to explain to my wife why this new bathroom was just going to have to wait a few years. Not very impressed with my argument that a fishing vessel much to improve my mental health, she replied that after completing their draft room, you might consider a boat the whole family, including grandchildren would enjoy a pontoon boat.

A ship carrying comfortably seat six or more people is not my idea of an art ideal fishing. You can zip across the river at 50 miles per hour on a houseboat want to be! It was a good thing that I was not really serious about buying the boat. No matter what type ship that catches your attention, it is unlikely that your spouse understand its importance, especially after you recover from sticker shock!

As shown in boat go, this was fantastic! In addition to almost any type of boat known to man, he had rows and rows of navigation accessories that were designed to capture the heart of every red-blooded American boatman.

In addition to GPS systems, fish finders, radar, VHF radio, audio systems, there are reels of freshwater fishing, freshwater rods, tackle, and saltwater rods and reels from each brand. This was a little confusing to me because the nearest salt water is 7 hours away.

Last weekend at the Boat Show was a welcome relief from winter Domain that has taken most of us. When stadiums and civic centers are full of boats, we know that spring is fast approaching!
