i have the type of scanner in the title i just bought it off ebay and it has the channels from the privous person that used it they have channels that i dont want how do i clear the scanner out so there is no channels stored????

Chad Knaus

Background
Born in Illinois, Chad Knaus grew up around the tracks in the Midwest helping his father's race against the likes of Mark Martin, Alan Kulwicki, Rusty Wallace and Dick drip. By the time he was 14, Knaus served as crew chief for his father John Rockford championship season Speedway. The father-son combination also won the Great Northern Series championship and finished second in the NASCAR Winston Racing Series. Several years and seven track championships later, Knaus moved to North Carolina in 1991 to get a job in the national stock car racing.
After working with Stanley team Stock Car Smith, Knaus got a job working on the # 24 Hendrick Motorsports team led by Ray Evernham team leader and raced by driver Jeff Gordon. From 1993 to 1997, Knaus advanced from a manufacturer the overall management of the entire chassis and construction program of the body for the # 24. Serving as a changer tires on the original Rainbow Warriors pit crew, Knaus was an integral part of the years 1995 and 1997 NASCAR Winston Cup teams Championship.
After of the 1997 season, Knaus joined Dale Earnhardt, Inc. as head coach, where he worked with Steve Park and later Darrell Waltrip. During the 1998 season, he moved Tyler Jet Motorsports, and in 1999 he received the call that would lead Knaus to Dodge, Melling Racing, and his final career goal. Ray Evernham wanted to lead the team Knaus Dodge Development, an opportunity quickly seized.
During two test sessions Dodge, Knaus worked with Melling Racing driver Stacy Compton. The two worked very well together, resulting in the rental of Knaus' as team leader of Compton in 2001.
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
Season 2001
In 2001, Knaus was head equipment for the operation of Mark Melling, which was sponsored by Pinkerton Snuff, with Compton as a pilot.
Season 2002
In 2002, Knaus was offered the position team leader for a rookie driver in the Hendrick Motorsports stable, Jimmie Johnson. Knaus rookie led the team to unprecedented success in 2002, earning three wins, 6 top 5s, 21 top 10s and four Bud Pole Awards. Johnson became the first rookie in the Cup Series history always lead the points table (which finally ended fifth overall). He also finished second in Rookie of the Year award to Ryan Newman. As a result of these efforts, Knaus took home the inaugural IRWIN "head Team of the Year. During the 2002 season at Dover, Knaus was fined for swearing on national television during an interview. He said after the victory Johnson, "Who says it is too young to win a championship?" We (expletive) in your favor! "
2003 Season
For the year 2003 # 48 team had three victories, 14 top 5, and 20 top 10s. Johnson finished the season ranking second in points to Matt Kenseth.
Season 2004

In 2004, the season started slowly, with some disappointments at the beginning of week two and three at Rockingham and Las Vegas. Without But the team rebounded with a week five win at the Dodge Dealers 400 at Darlington Raceway Carolina. After victories in the Coca-Cola 600 and Pocono 500 helped solidify its place in the NASCAR Chase for the Cup to the end of the season. However, poor finishes at Talladega (37th) and Kansas (32nd) almost stopped their chances of winning Nextel Cup, but three straight wins and four in the last six races, putting the # 48 18 points behind leader Kurt Busch into the final race. The second victory in the 500 meters at Martinsville on October 24, 2004, was marred by tragedy when Rick Hendrick's son, Ricky Hendrick, nieces and brother died in a plane crash en route to the race. The eight passengers and pilots were killed in the incident. The team eventually finished second in the Nextel Cup Series points, losing to Kurt Busch by just eight points.
2005 Season
Knaus and Johnson took a step back in 2005, finishing the season ranked fifth in the standings after an accident in the season ending the race at Homestead.
2006 Season
In 2006, Johnson and Knaus won their first championship with five Nextel Cup Series victories, 13 top 5s, and 24 among Top 10.
2007 Season
2007 was the best season of Knaus and Johnson. The duo took home its second consecutive championship with a better set of 10 victories. Hendrick Motorsports was the dominant team in 2007, accumulating 18 victories in 36 races, or exactly half. Knaus and Johnson led the Hendrick who saw the battle for the championship is reduced a race between themselves and their partner Jeff Gordon.

Criticism
In early 2006, Knaus was accused of cheating after Daytona 500 Jimmie Johnson qualifying lap. Knaus made an illegal adjustment to the rear window, which led to his suspension of Sprint Cup events until March 22. Despite the loss of his crew chief, Johnson won the Daytona 500, and two of the three races in general, with the head of Acting team, Darian Grubb.
Knaus again found himself in the center of controversy for the first road race NASCAR Car of Tomorrow. On 23 June 2007 the # 24 (Chief Steve Letarte) and the # 48 came in the inspection line for the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway with the new body style Hendrick shop. While both cars fit the templates, NASCAR officials questioned how the defenses between the template points. Johnson was not allowed to rate the car, and started in the back of the field. Knaus was fined $ 100,000 and was suspended for six races.

Knaus is a regular commentator on NASCAR Performance, a program that emissions of each track each week. Each program offers a team leader perspective on the hot topics in NASCAR, as well as a preview of the race weekend. Knaus is Bootie Barker to join Michael Waltrip Racing, a special guest each week, and the program is supported by Fox Larry McReynolds.
Knaus has also appeared in commercials TV for Kobalt Tools for Lowe's, the main sponsor of Jimmie Johnson # 48 car, Johnson asked, "What are you doing? "After making Johnson mounts a variety of repair projects Kobalt Tools, and precedes the response of Johnson," Welding, Chad. "(For the first commercial) and "Boys plumbing." (For the latter, after both Knaus and an employee of Public Works the same question.)
He announces the team leader in NASCAR 08 and NASCAR 09 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
