Each flat should have it’s own electric meter. If you have one meter, then you’re sharing the cost of the electricity used by both parties.
People living in the other flat may use twice the amount of electricity than you do. So what is that saying? It’s saying you’re not only paying your own electric bill, but also picking up the cost of the people in the other flat. You may be conserving the use of the electricity and the people in the other flat may be leaving the lights on all night with the TV going while they’re sleeping.

For many people, all they know about electricity is using it and get a monthly bill for that use. Volts, amps, watts and kilowatt-hour is a Language abroad. In order to start reducing your electricity bill, it is useful to see how parts of very different energy in your home use. Watt meters are very useful device for accomplishing this.

There are two basic types of watt meters. The first type is a plug gauge designed to measure individual units. Just connect your device to the meter, and connect the meter in Wall. With this information, you can quickly identify inefficient items. The second type of meter is a meter of the whole house which can be located in a convenient place in your house (the kitchen counter for example), and show you how much energy your home is using at any given time, and the data accumulated during the day and for the billing cycle.

A meter indicates how much energy is being used. If you connect a 60 watt light in a meter reading, read something close to 60 watts.
