how do i change a gear box on an s reg renault laguna rt diesel turbo sports?
The gear box is making an awful sound like scraping metal in 1st 2nd and 3rd, it jumps into neutral from 3rd and 5th is my gear box stuffed?
I started out years ago doin my own maintenance on cars cos i couldnt or didnt want to pay garage fees,i would look at the part that needed taking off,ie gearbox, engine etc and put all parts in a line as not to forget how they went back, most times you find a quicker way or easier way when putting back together, use proper axle stands and trolley jack, good luck
Car Racing is one of the most popular sports in the world, and certainly has its place among the most watched sports in North America. Each year, Thousands of people see what is happening in the NASCAR and CART circuits and every year thousands of people try to emulate the pros.
The racing history professional and amateur probably dates to the days when the automobile was invented and the competitive spirit jumped into her first driving position, while its friend jumped into her car. Since then the sport has been refined and marketed to become the last time is now and that has meant a big change in the road.
The turbocharger
One of the great changes that revolutionized racing was the introduction of the turbocharger. The charger itself was invented in the first years of the 20th century, and began to appear in practical applications (specifically the ships and locomotives) around the 1920s.
Turbochargers increase the amount of air in the piston of an engine on each stroke, increasing the drive power that supplies engines for the vehicle in motion (more air equals more fuel). Turbochargers use the rotation of the crankshaft, as its power source, using the heat produced to power the extra air. It says they are more efficient compressors, taking the power from the engine itself.
The turbocharger auto racing
The first use of a turbocharger in the car was in the 1970s, when the car producer Renault of France introduced the turbo engine in Formula One cars. This was a relatively late development given the long history of the turbo charger, but at this point developers think motorsports technology was not efficient and reliable enough fuel to move a successful racing car.
Renault critics wrong, however, by using a turbocharger which provided a significant boost to the speed of the car with the use of a fairly small engine. In the 1980s, all Formula One cars are equipped with turbo chargers.
Turbo loads and driver
Apart from increasing the speed of a racing car could achieve in a short period of time, the skill needed to use a turbo to an engine also meant a new breed of drivers is needed. This development is not limited only to the professional circuits, such as Formula One fans around the world found that a successful racing car driven turbo meant an increase in synchronization capability, reflexes, and even force.
The introduction of turbocharging auto racing changed forever. Today, there are several styles of racing turbo chargers that do not allow, but still, the fact that there must be an action against of these innovations is an indication of its long range impact and application!
