What is the difference between tube amplifiers and transistor amplifiers?

I just got my Ibanez AK95 (jazzbox) and I’d like to have a fitting amp to go with the guitar. So should I go for tube or transistor amps? And what is the difference?!

To make a broad generalization, tube amps have a warmer less sterile sound. This is due to a little bit of tonal distortion from the tubes. Often they seem louder compared to a solid state amp of the same wattage.
Historically, solid state amps had a very clean and “flat” frequency response. Although that’s a desirable trait in most sound equipment, in guitar amps it made for a sterile sound. Lately, amp makers have been designing “modeling” amps which come closer to simulating the sound of classic tube amps.
The biggest downside of tube amps is that tubes need occasional replacement. They also can be heavy and usually more expensive than solid state.
As to which type to get….that’s hard to say. There are fine sounding amps with and without tubes. I have a vintage Fender Super Reverb tube amp that is the sweetest sounding amp I’ve ever heard. Sometimes I gig with it, other times I use a solid state Peavey. They both sound good. I think you’re going to have to try a few out and see what you like. If there is a particular band that is characteristic of the style of music you want to play, why not visit their webpage and see what gear they use?

Small enough to fit in a jacket pocket, his transistor radio for the first time the model for the future portable music machines that American teens could use to listen to the growing phenomenon of rock and roll.

Of transistors, began his adventure in the liquid crystal 1960s. The company received a patent for the invention of the grille opening TV cathode ray tube in 1963. The aperture grille technology, very thin vertical wires behind the glass screen of a television screen are used to separate the different colors of phosphors in strips. For almost thirty years long enough when talking about the technology of open grid technology offers consumers and producers of TV with the best image on screen. This milestone in the television dynasty was the Trinitron brand.

When it came to image and quality the product, the television was long seen as a reference point. The patented design of aperture grille produces bright, high contrast and focus balanced that stood out from other products available. Aperture grille design was also easier to manufacture than products television tube, resulting in a change in the television production process. These factors combined to make the top brand of products.

Since the patent for aperture grille technology expired in the 1990s, a number of other television manufacturers, including Samsung and Mitsubishi, have incorporated the technology Trinitron in their own products. Moreover, its brand computer monitors, is a widespread issue. Most major computer makers, including Apple Computer, Dell, December, Gateway, IBM and Sun Microsystems, have the logo in the upper left corner.

Like any other competitor strong technology, company moved to the new era that ended with the introduction of gas plasma and liquid crystal monitors and televisions. After thirty decades of dominance CRT LCD and plasma technology of gas are believed to have better image quality. To keep up with the times, the company created a version of flat screen picture tube in the 1990s. The design, a new flat picture tube called FDTrinitron, described on its website as the delivery of imagining incredible precision, wide viewing angles, excellent contrast and detail from corner to corner. Now, Sony is now also produces high-definition digital TV with the patented backlighting system Live Color Creation. This, together with their surround sound systems today offer consumers the latest in movie theaters in high-tech home.

Progression Companys from transistor radios to the liquid crystal models of how successful companies operate: incubate a new idea, developing and patenting, licensing to other manufacturers, and then start the cycle again.
