Sideband Amp
does a linear amp.(used to boost watts on 2 way radios) put out more watts on sideband than on a.m.?

As (Sparkey) the last answer stated, The power from the linear amp will still be100 watts if the modulation is correct. However, In single sideband all (95%) of that power will be going into that one side band. In Am the power is devided between the Carrier and the two side bands. 50% to the Carrier and 25% to each of the two side bands. So the net gain in output would be about 45% greater on SSB than standard AM.
