I Hope this Helps!
With all the different types of scanners in the market these days, no wonder people are confused on what the different types of scanners really are. A good scanner for the busy business person is the scanner with sheet feeder.
A sheetfed scanner used to capture images documents and transfer them to a computer. Leaf Scanners are ideal for scanning large documents such as manuals or transcripts. They are not good for scanning image, yet there are plenty of scanners available for this purpose. They have proved very effective and efficient for businesses and new models are constantly being developed and improved. A great advantage of a sheetfed scanner is that it is smaller than a flatbed scanner and uses much less space desktop. Over the years, the sheetfed scanners have become smaller and faster.
With a scanner with feeder leaves, the user must feed the sheet being tested. With this type of scanner, the document is actually moving and the scanner is stable. This was the opposite of a traditional flatbed scanner that moves on the document. This is the precise reason that these scanners are not very good for scanning any type of graphics. Because the image is zooming past so fast, the scanner must capture a Moving target. As a result, the quality and clarity of the image suffers.
Many sheetfed scanners are also new laptops, which is great for the traveling business person who needs a scanner that can configured quickly and do the job. A sheetfed scanner laptop can be carried in a briefcase, backpack or purse. They are great for scanning cards, checks, passports or any paper.
Most lower-priced models are made for black and white documents, but the models newer scans that color with fairly good results. Prices are very reasonable and you can get a very good quality color scanner for about $ 300. Before making a purchase, be sure to do your research and know exactly what your needs and what is required from the scanner. With the amount of products and information available can be overwhelming and make you take a wrong purchase decision.
