Scanner receiver question YUPITERU MVT-7100?

Hi can anyone tell me if it is at all possible to convert my mvt 7100 to be able to receive digital signals as at the moment as most of the emergency services have converted to digital I am no longer able to to receive them is there a chip which can be inserted somehow??

No. A very limited number of scanners could take an APCO-25 decoder card, but the MVT-7100 is not one of them. The entire control system of the radio has to be pre-designed to interface with the parts that decode the data stream so that frequencies can be switched to follow particular talkgroups, and the memory in the scanner has to be set up so that it can operate using the very different method of channel selection that trunking uses, whether digital or not.

If you are on a budget, your best bet would be to get a slightly older digital trunking scanner on eBay. New Uniden Bearcats that can decode APCO-25 are in the range of $500, as are most other current offerings. The previous generation radios can be had as reconditioned units for about $300 right now. If you are willing to wait for the right unit on eBay, you can probably do as well as getting an older digital trunking unit for under $300, but be prepared to wait to find one that can sell that cheaply.
