How can I mod this radio scanner to go to 5.8GHz?

it’s a general electric 4 channel thing I got at a yard sale, it only goes from 150 MHz to 174MHz though. It’s model # is 7-2985A

I’d suspect the best way to have a 5.8GHz will be to buy one. If unknown how to do this modification it is likely not a good option. For information try going to a local electronics repair store and see if they won’t give you some concepts how to accomplish this.
