I have a dual trunking scanner. How do I use this to pick up cell phone/cordless phone calls?

rare is correct. if your scanner could get those frequencies (it cant), you would hear nothing but noise. No one uses analogue phones anymore. You can hear plenty of cell phone conversations at the store, movie theatre, restaurant, etc. It might do you some good to get out more too.
