is wearing a scanner on a belt illegal? and is that impersonating a police officer???

okay i am 16 yrs old, joing the explorer program.

Wearing a scanner is legal. Its a receiver and there is no law against it.

However my young buck there’s a lot more to this job than being an explorer and wearing a scanner and a SWAT hat. The job is deathly dull at times punctuated by moments of sheer terror. The majority of people you deal with are worthless, scumbag lowlifes who have the balls to insist you treat them the same as a law abiding citizen. of course..they’re living in a pipe dream. The only time they suck up to you is when they’re in hot water. Then they’re all set to cut deals and work as an informant selling all their buddies down the river for court consideration or money to feed their junkie cravings.

Sadly the decent people you meet are usually in terrbile circumstances or are so angry they’ve been victimized that you become their target for backlash. This is when you start thinking ALL people are a*ssholes. A common disease of cops. You have to step back and realize these people are angry and hurt and believe me..they come around and are very apologetic afterwards for their conduct.

in the meantime..the sh*itheads who come to you and demand your help. Hahahah….yeah…..don’t hold your breath waiting for me to help you out on this one.
