How much does a ct scan usually cost out of pocket if you have insurance?

I might have to get a CT scan of my foot later today and I was wondering how much i should expect to pay out of pocket. I am going to a doctor in Houston, TX and I am covered by Aetna

Well it depends – If your insurance requires authorization for diagnostic testing and they don’t have the auth when you go then you might have to sign a form saying that if they don’t get the auth then you would be responsible for the charges (A CT scan can be anywhere from 2,000 to 3,000 dollars.)
