Can I use a rubber ducky style antenna on a base station CB radio?

I want to know if I can use a rubber ducky antenna that is meant to be used on a hand held CB radio, on a base station CB for small range communications.

Radio shack used to sell. I do not know if they still do, a “back of set” CB antenna. I actually used one and it worked well for a mile or so.

The antenna (rubber duck) will work for extremely short ranges, but you need one made for CB bands.

You may wish to consider FRS, or eXRS for your communications, as they are handheld and use FM rather than noisy AM for communications. (provided you live in the USA) Europe uses FM for CB also.
