How do I make my mic work in “microphone” instead of “Rear mic”?

My computer won’t let me use my mic if I have “Microphone” checked in volume properties, but it works perfectly find under “Rear mic”. However, when I connect the mic the sigmatel audio config will pop and only let me choose “Microphone”, and therefor when I select “Rear mic” in volume properties once in a while it will default the check back to “Microphone” and my mic will stop working. Anyone know how I can fix this?

inside your case is some wires that connect to your front side of the case and you’ll find a few wires that say mic on it and it’ll disable the back mic and enable the front side mic as soon as you plug them in
