Ranger/ Pilot?

Hi, I am planning on going into Army ROTC. Already have a few offers waiting for a couple more possibly. I want to fly helicopter and one day make it to become a Nightstalker that would be pretty awesome. But I was wondering if people can tell me ways to better my chances to get a spot in the 160th and also can I obtain my ranger badge before I become a pilot. I just think with that training it would help me be the best soldier I possibly can become, and get me mentally and physically ready incase I ever went down.

Yes, you would have a chance to go to Ranger School as an Officer.

Most ROTC departments have a ranger type unit on campus.

During the summers when in ROTC, you are allowed to attend Army training schools.

During your Junior year in ROTC, you will start the process of choosing what branch of thr Army you want to go into.

You would then have to take a flight physical and the AFOQT, AFAST or ASTB.

You will be notified during your senior year, if you qualify for flight school.

How to get into 160th Soar ??

Be the best helo pilot you can be, when you get out of flight school.

Try and get stationed at Fort Campbell.

It’s alot easier for the 160th to hear about good pilots in the 101st, than if your at Fort Hood.

And ive never figured out, why so many people think ROTC students go to Basic Training for, or any Officers for that matter.
