Can licensed two way radio still can scan for PMR 466 conversations?

Can a licenced two way radio, still scan for PMR466 radio activity.. but due to the radio being more powerful as it is licensed, it could tune into radio activity further away due to the better range?

If a licenced radio has more power, that means it can transmit farther, not necessarily receive from farther away (unless receiving from another stronger radio). Switching from one model to another, one brand to another, or even just a newer radio, you might have better sensitivity than the older one allowing farther receive. Weather, terrain and obstacles (mountains, buildings, trees, etc.) also can affect your communications range.

Radiosophy I had the HD100 for a few weeks this summer and is definitely a great value at $ 99.95.
To the best of my knowledge, is the least expensive HD Radio available however, has a number of nice features.

Pros

I liked the HD sound much. Both AM and FM sound noticeably better in HD – with a clean sound, clear and no static or interference. However, maybe it's just me, I saw the most dramatic difference between regular AM and HD Radio AM.

The unit is easy to use right out of the box without installation issues. It is basically plug-and-play, simply plug and turn it on.

It is also easy to find HD stations. Just click Search and the radio automatically switches to the next station it can find and a red light turns on. If the station broadcasts in HD, a blue light flashes, then solid when the HD signal locks in. The text display shows stations called letters, and if you have an HD2 channel, TS often be followed by the number one. For example, 101.1-1 appear as 101.1. Click Search Again and HD100 automatically goes to the HD2 channel.

The HD100 is also very easy to program. Everything you do when you find an HD or HD2 broadcast you want to save, is one release of the five buttons of the program. You can schedule or up to five AM and five FM stations.

There is also the SCAN button and Scan. I found the scan button Down to be mainly because only look up the dial.

The Radiosophy HD100 has a telescoping FM antenna which I think I really is needed. However, they end up attaching the AM antenna as I had a problem with the signals of AM station despite living within the metropolitan area.

I also liked its compact size. The design is nice and easy to pick up the unit and take it from one room to another. Since that doubles as a clock radio with a clock, an alarm and a snooze alarm, I would more likely keep in my bedroom.

The Cons

I would like HD Radio this ship comes with a remote control. I was sitting on a shelf in the room so when I wanted to change channels or adjust the volume, I had to stop what he was doing, and get up and walk towards unity.

I also found the screen or the text screen a bit difficult to read. But then, I Spring am not a coward, so he had more to do with my view of the radio display.

Finally, given the size of the unit, no stereo real separation. The sound is excellent, but you never think you're listening to a stereo broadcast. However, for me, that's fine because the HD100 is a compact, clock radio and not a bookshelf stereo system.
