Radio Microphone

How would I go about taking input from a microphone and transmitting it over a radio frequency?

I am a rather newbie electronics hobbyist and I want to know how I would make a walkie talkie by having it send input from a microphone over a radio frequency (I assume that’s how it’s done), and have it be picked up and transmitted out a speaker on the other end.

Go to yahoo search for a fm or am transmitter schematic. Or buy a kit.
Only problem you will have is they will be low power around 200 feet or so to be legal.
