Radio Bear

Need math help, Scientist chart movement of a bear, they attached a radio transmitter to its neck. Two tracn?
stations are monitoring the radio signals from the bear. Station B is 10 miles directly east of station A. On Mon, Station A measured the direction to the bear at N43degreesE, and station B at N30degreesW. Threee days later the directions to the bear from the two tracking stations were n24degreesE and N30degreesW, respectively. How much farther from station B was the polar bear after those three days? Please show me the calculations. Note I did not know how to do the symbol for degrees.
You are studying trigonometry and you have just learned about the Sine Law:
a/Sin(A) = b/Sin(B) = c/Sin(C)
Where A, B, and C are the three angles of a triangle
and a=BC, b=AC, and c=AB are the opposite sides.
(a is opposite to A, b is opposite to B, and c is opposite to C.)
Draw the two triangles:
Station A, Station B, and Polar Bear C at the beginning
and again after three days.
One side and two angles are given in each triangle.
Read carefully! North 43 degrees East means that side AC makes makes an angle of 43 degrees on the East (right) side of a line from A pointing north (Perpendicular to AB, with B pointing to the right). So the angle BAC is 90-43=47 degrees.
In each triangle you must first find the 3rd Angle (C) since you are given just angles A and B and side c=AB. To use the Sine Law you need a side and the OPPOSITE angle. Remenber that all three angles add up to 180 degrees to find that third angle.
Finally you can use angle A to find side a=BC in each triangle:
a/Sin(A) = c/Sin(C) becomes a/Sin(47)=10/Sin(73) in the first tirangle, which you should be able to solve easily, and a similar equation for the second triangle.
Reread the question. You are asked for the difference between these two values for a.

On 10 October 2008, the Dow Jones Industrial average futures fell more than 700 points and during mid-morning trading what actually crossed into the territory positive. At the end of the day, the Dow closed more than 400 points. That is a price swing of more than 1100 points in one day. The volatility is absolutely historic. It may be difficult to see the good side of swing of this type, but need to realize that we are experiencing historic events.
So shall all the fluctuations wild prices and bank failures, what is the best thing to do in the Great Bear Market of 2008?
The first thing to do in a bear market is to have realistic mindset. Do not worry, what the newspapers are printed or what TV presenters are saying in the news at 6:00 pm. Remember, the media communication is in business to sell papers and get viewers every night.
In fact, a wise man once told me what he did during the market The 1973-1974 bear. He said he was so worried that your portfolio had slept only 2-3 hours per night for several weeks. This lack of sleep was affecting their health, his marriage and his day job. In fact, he said he was suffering from "ursaphobia. The term "Ursa" is Latin for bear. The definition a phobia is "fear of something." Put them together and you Ursaphobia – The Fear of the Bear.
After a heated discussion regarding their investments with his wife, he said he went for a walk. During his drive he was hearing the news on the radio. The announcer talked about the bad economy and the stock market. He said he leaned over to turn up the volume on the radio but the radio knob fell off. Since I could not hear the news he turned off the radio. He said that led to another Media hour before going home.
When driving in his driveway told me he felt a sense of peace and tranquility come across your mind and body. After do with his wife, he said on the radio and experience the peace I felt. After hearing his story, his wife suggested he stop listening to the radio, read the newspaper or watch the evening news for a week and see how it felt.
After few days he felt great. He stressed that it was more and this experience taught stress manager for the rest of his life. So when the market goes down, (and is) said that he keeps in touch with your broker twice a week and not watch TV or read a financial newspaper as close as it did in the past.
So instead of focusing on a lot of numbers, charts and quotes, why not focus on the present and future.
