Do I get ticket for racing with Police Crusier at the Signal?

For example, A police officer and my self are at signal light. We both looked at eachother as we stopped at the signal. We have been there for 10 long Seconds and the light turn green, I hit the accelerator. I reach the speed limit of 40 MPG way faster than the cop. Do I still get a ticket eventhough I did not cross the speed limit of 40 MPG?
