Scanner antenna?

If i put a telescopic whip antenna on top of a pole outside the house and connect it to my scanner with coax is it going to be any use ?

It will restrict what you will recieve. Go to Radio Shack and pick a broad spectrum ant. for a scanner. You will have better reception with that ant.. There are cheap…. Good Luck…
