i am Army prior service and am looking to going back into the service as an Officer seeing as I have a Bachelors degree.
Does The Corps take prior service? I am in good shape and only 25 years old.
How fast to Officers get promoted if prior service?
What is the PR program like?
Where are PR officers stationed?
Well, being enlisted hurts your chances no matter what any enlisted man thinks. The Corps only gets 10% of its Officers from the enlisted ranks. It’s a completely different mentality and training to be an Officer and they don’t want you to have the same mindset as the enlisted ranks.
Assuming your GPA is sky high, and somehow you get into OCS, Officer promotions are political. Congress determines how many we can have at any 1 rank and how the promotion works. In about 4 years you’d be a Captain, since you already have some military years. After that, promotions aren’t automatic and if you don’t get promoted you are separated from the Corps.
