Do I need an HDMI interface & cable to have HD resolution on my PC monitor?

I have a 1080p monitor that’s about to come in the mail, and was wondering if I need either a special interface or an HDMI cable to get actual high def on this thing? If I do need an interface, what kind, an if I need an HDMI cord, should it be male/male or male/female?

HDMI will take care of your HD and audio. Male to male is the cable required. Is your computer HDMI ready?…If so you should be OK. if not …you will need to buy a card.\
