How would you price gently used children’s clothing?
I am selling my daughters clothes by piece out of my home. I have pajamas, onsies with pants, etc. I also have outfits and seperates. How would you price these things? They’re all gently used.
Depends.
What is your definition of “gently used”? If they have *any* stains, rips, runs, holes, or freys I wouldn’t sell them or I would sell them for super cheap (like $0.50 a peice). If they are a little worn but have no stains, rips, runs, etc. then it depends on where the clothes came from. If you bought them second hand to begin with you can’t really charge a lot for them, but if you bought them from designer baby stores, then I would charge about 20% of the price that you paid for them.
You’ll know if you go to high because no one will buy them.

In recent years buying gently used items have been removed! College students really helped the trend. It is difficult to pay tuition, rent and a host of other charges then hit the mall and spend $ 125 in 3 Tops. Buying gently used clothing you can afford to purchase items Designer or brand with a huge discount.
Last year my neighbor found out he was expecting. She has 3 children of others. The youngest of the 3 is 15. Ouch! What a surprise:) I have a contact who specializes in "baby" I told my neighbor and said, "but it's not new" and I said " is new to you "We hopped in the car and took a walk. She was stunned to saving. car seats, high chairs, Corrales, bibs, blankets, Onesies, sleepers and clothing. We have supplied and is now hooked, buy things for her husband and 4 children.
Mothers are another popular group of buyers. Form a family (as we all know) is an enormous expense. Mom always tended to be always the last now with Ebay, thrift and consignment stores do not have to. They can use most fashionable styles, have the brand name items and not spend a fortune. There is a need for this secondary market. An example is a professional woman, perhaps a paralegal who has been out of the workforce over the past 5 to 10 years raising her family. When making the decision to return to work you need an entire wardrobe new. That is an enormous expense. Parents can be more flexible with their children. It is much less painful to pay $ 5 for Tee T-shirt should be $ 35.
I have a dear friend who is a fashion consultant. She dresses people for a living. Many customers buy something, use it once and pass it to her. One of the (many) benefits of this friendship is that I get a call saying, "I'm going down this weekend and have some great things for you!" The drawback is the expense of the hearing of order week "That's not a good color for you" or "upper chest makes you look flat" Luckily I have thick skin:) There are plenty of people out there that used once and are done with it. There are some who get the point of origin, they realize it does not fit very well not have the time to return it. Then there are those who outstanding care of their clothing and that even after a year could still be described as "like new"
Even if you are of the mindset "cost does not matter, you can benefit from the purchase of clothing with little use. J Crew Remember that white dress of her husband spilled red wine in? That was a great dress, but do nothing. Your favorite pair of jeans you're thinking about recording together, because the canal you can not find anywhere!
Many people do not look designer label. They could be looking for something unique. You can type "silver and yellow rhinestone top" in search and possibly a hit or 10. Post to Want It Now anyone can have exactly what you are looking for. There are more options now to take advantage of them
Where to start? Ebay is very convenient. You can see 100 different items for lunch. Clothing, shoes, handbags, earrings right at your fingertips.
Now is a matter of trust. Have you ever really going to see that J Crew Dress? Will you have a gaping hole if you do? A large black ink stain? The general rule is traders and retailers want you to buy your items and want to return. There are some who are here and then disappeared, but mostly it's safe to shop a lot of great people and great products. Be safe and protect yourself. Check comments. It's a great way to find out what kind of experience that other buyers. It gives you peace of mind to read "the item as described!", "Quick delivery", "customer service" and so on.
Ask questions. Is not it clear description? Are you wondering what the back of the upper look like? In general, sellers want to help. You can clear things up, send photos or whatever you need. If they do, you may not want to buy them. If the seller is difficult before the transaction is completed, imagine what it will be later. Stores are human and make mistakes if he was not in the description that probably just got lost and try to make things right with you. Over time, get to know the vendors and their wares. You know that carries your favorite brands, always describes the subject perfectly, has the best prices, always easy to treat and so on. The next thing you know you are going to use that Bebe dress I love the top from Banana Republic I love that cute American Eagle skirt, but all 3 have been achieved for the price of 1:) And hey, facts are facts: It's new to you!
