when i test an LC circuit with a wireless frequency counter should i only get one stable frequency?

when i put my frequency counter near the coil it gives me reading from 400 Mhz when its close to it and as i get about 20 cm away it says over 600 Mhz it cant be other signals as when i get 30 cm away its says 0.0000 Mhz on the display plus i have the filter turned on so any ideas or any help(advice) would be appreciated

Difficult to tell without seeing a schematic of the setup but it sounds like the probe is loading the LC circuit when it gets close hence the lower frequency when you get closer. Your hand can make a difference at those sort of frequencies too.

Monitoring real-time particle requires placing a single laser particle counter or particle sensor at a designated location in the cleanroom. The sensor particle counter particle counts and monitors events in the specified location in the cleanroom. The particles are monitored in particle form per cubic meter or per cubic meter.
