Would this constitute as emergency leave for the military?

Does anyone know if this would count as emergency leave? My grandfather is about to pass away we think and if he does I’d like my husband to be able to go with me to the funeral, but he wouldn’t be able to get regular leave, and I know emergency leave usually has to involve immediate family, would that constitute as immediate family you think? Of course I’m gonna have him ask his flight chief as soon as he can but I was just wondering in the mean time?
