What is the difference between analog and digital trunk tracking?
Digital trunk tracking scanners are obviously much more expensive. So why would I need a digital trunk tracking scanner over an analog?
A digital scanner can receive digital transmissions, not just follow a digital trunking system. Like TV, 2 way radio is progressing toward a digital modulation transmission system. If you want to hear any digital 2 way radio on your scanner you need one that is digital capable. If you don’t want to listen to a digital radio or there’s none in your area you won’t need a digital scanner.

SIP Trunking & Business Phone Systems
SIP trunking is still a relatively new technology, closely related to the modern business phone system and, potentially, a technology that can bring business benefits to many.
What is SIP Trunking?
In its simplest form, SIP Trunk can be viewed as no different from an ordinary phone line is connected to digital telephone system Company. In form it is used, the purpose of what it is and whether it was in an office picked up the phone and made a call I would not know if you were calling out in a standard digital telephone line or a SIP trunking service.
SIP Trunking What is delivered?
SIP Trunking is delivered using both methods —
(i) As a data service over existing xDSL connection or similar
(ii) More a dedicated voice service or similar xDSL
Method (i) often routes calls over the public Internet, while (method ii) is a circuit supply and usually guaranteed to provide a level of quality of service (QoS) which is linked in the backbone of the network, thus by passing traffic of Internet. Once the circuit has been installed data connection then is made to the current system of telephone business, much like a phone line conventional needs as well. To connect the SIP trunk to an old telephone system (usually made pre-2006), then it is likely that a unit converter SIP would be necessary. The SIP unit converter connects both ports of existing line in telephone systems for SIP trunking xDSL circuit. Many firms telephone systems manufactured after 2006 may require a license key, software update or an additional piece of hardware that SIP trunking service to be connected directly.
Why Use SIP Trunking?
SIP Trunking brings many business benefits, the most important of which can be enumerated as follows —
• Prices lower line rental
• Low call charges
• Free of charge for net calls (useful for multi-site companies)
• Ability to retain phone numbers regardless of where Company moves
• Possibility of having different numbers of national and international area codes
• Re-routing the call instant when a disaster
SIP Trunking Summary
SIP trunking is now widely available, a proven technology and SIP providers working closely with the system of manufactures telephone business should help install confidence in the market for the rapid assimilation. However, this is only a part of history, to ensure a SIP Trunking solution works as expected, the calculations are correct carried out in terms of bandwidth that is made available to allow the required number of simultaneous calls to make or receive. The last, but my no means least, part of the equation to be the right is the supply, installation and configuration of hardware and software required SIP SIP may be necessary. With all these elements correctly instead of SIP trunk seems that will take the industry by storm in the coming years, benefiting many businesses and the telecommunications company along the road.
