I have a crew race tomorrow, what should I do about the blisters?

I have three right now on my left hand (I row port) and I’m sweeping tomorrow for 3 miles and I’ve had crew every morning and afternoon for the last three weeks except for today and tomorrow is my first regatta and my hands hurt SO much! [no gloves allowed].

race time comes, and you got tons of blisters? .. I hate when that happens, when you focus on your hand pain more than the pain you should be feeling during the race!
Anyways, a quick way to dry your blisters, is to pop them, rip the skin off them, and apply alcohol to it. (It will hurt like hell). If you do this, the skin will dry out super quickly, and you should be ready to go!

You can also put polysporin on before you race (it should have a painkiller on it) and that could help a bit with the pain.
Other things you can do is to wrap up your hands, (electrical tape works) or you can use like gauze to kinda bandage them. (don’t put too much, or it might screw up your grip with the oar.
Good luck with your racing, 6k’s are tough, and even more so when you have blisters, just try to keep your hands loose, don’t tense up, try to think your hands are like levers, using just your fingers to pull, (like little hooks).
If you try your best to be fluid, and have a relaxed grip during the recovery, it will really help out your hands during the race, but depending on how bad your blisters are, its probably going to still hurt.
