Does a Temp. License from a Car Dealership Cover Tabs?

I just bought a used car from a dealer, and noticed the tabs were expired. The dealership said they would order me new tabs, and I could just keep the paper “temp. license” on the back window in the meantime. If I were to get pulled over, will this cover my proof of registration and over-ride the tab expiration? Thanks so much in advance.

You should check with the dealer on the status of your plates and ask for a new temp until you receive your plates.
