Will dual-channel enabled memory modules work in a computer that does not support dual-channel memory?

I’m upgrading the memory in my computer and I came across the problem of dual-channel memory. My computer does not support dual-channel memory, and I found a nice set of memory modules that is apparently a “Dual Channel Kit”. My question is, will they work in my computer that does not support dual-channel memory?

Yep, but it’ll obviously be in single channel.

Today, I will talk about another feature of the Intel X58 motherboard: Triple channel memory. However, to fully comprehend the concept of this new system, First \ 'm going to explain the basics of dual channel memory.

The technology of dual channel memory was created based on its predecessor, the memory a single channel. This memory technology began to address the interface between the memory controller and processor, the processor data processing and to create commands, and the memory controller to regulate the flow of data and commands and sends them to other components such as real memory (RAM) and other smaller components (IDE, USB, etc.) In short, under a single channel memory, a processor with a bus speed higher than the RAM that causes a \ 'traffic jam \ "data and commands into memory and, consequently, they would not reach all the components, if all these commands and data files do not reach the other components, unworkable, and the processor would have nothing to process.

So there you have it, the explanation of the tri-channel memory! But, How does this effect us? Well, you won \ 't effect us now, because dual-channel DDR3 memory is still active can keep Core i7 day \ 's processing speed, triple-channel memory enabled only creates another channel when the processor will need more space to push data and commands. This technology, however, definitely affect us in the future, as manufacturers release more processing and more high speed and high quality processors, dual channel memory can not keep up with the demands of the new chips, and eventually the memory will triple channel and perhaps abandon the dual channel memory of ancient technology.
