How long does the hiring process usually take for any county entity?

I was recently offered a job with the county in my town. I have to take a drug test and they have to do a background check of course. I was just curious as to how long the process would take before I actually start working?

I don’t know what county you live, but both my boyfriend and I work for the county in our town. It took us months. I waited 4 weeks after the interview to get hired, and another 6 weeks before I started. My bf didn’t wait that long, but close. Counties are not usually desperate for people to work. A very recent study, published in the U.S. Census Bureau News by the U.S. Department of Commerce, reveals interesting trends of population increase between U.S. counties.

The U.S. available of 3,141 municipalities and among the top of the charts for the largest numerical increase of the population is hands of Maricopa County. The county gained 696,000 residents between 2000 and 2006, an increase that exceeds the population of all groups but 15 U.S. cities. This is the fourth county largest in the U.S. and increasing population has made Arizona the fastest growing state between 2005 and 2006.

The second county in the United States that added the largest increase in the number of inhabitants, Harris County, Texas, with a growing population 486,000 residents.

Among the 20 counties U.S. with the largest numerical increases 2000 to 2006 period, 19 were in the South or West. Of the 10 winners size of the population, three were in Texas, three in California, one in Georgia and one in Illinois.

Here is a list of the 10 counties in the U.S. with the largest numerical growth in 2000 and 2006:

1. Maricopa, Arizona, with a population growth of 695,784
2. Harris, Texas, with a population growth of 485,653
3. Riverside, California, with a population growth of 481,416
4. Los Angeles, California, with a population growth of 428,751
5. Clark, Nevada, with a growth 401,801 population
6. San Bernardino, California with a population growth of 289,898
7. Tarrant, Texas, with a population growth of 225,121
8. Collin, Texas, with a population growth of 207,076
9. Gwinnett, Georgia, with a population growth of 168,656
10. Will, Illinois, with a population growth of 165,950

While these are the statistics for counties with the highest population increase, the statistics the Census Bureau U.S. Counties with the fastest population growth are:

Flagler, Florida, was the county's fastest growth in the U.S. with a population increase of 66.7% between 2000 and 2006. Of the county's current population is 83,000. Kendall, Illinois, and Rockwall, Texas, with a population increase of 61.7% and 60.5% respectively, were the nation's second and third fastest growing counties. Loudoun, Virginia and Forsyth, Georgia completed the five fastest growing counties in the U.S.

The Top 10 of the fastest growing counties in the U.S. between 2000 and 2006 and population growth are the following:

1. Flagler, Florida, with 66.7% population increase
2. Kendall, Illinois, with 61.7% of population increase
3. Rockwall Texas, with 60.5% population increase
4. Loudoun, Virginia, with 58.5% population increase
5. Forsyth, Georgia, with 53.4% population increase
6. Pinal, Arizona, with 51.0% population increase
7. Douglas, Colorado, with a 50.0% population increase
8. Henry, Georgia, with 49.2% population increase
9. Paulding, Georgia, with 48.9% population increase
10. Lyon, Nevada, with 48.5% population increase

Among the 20 fastest growing counties in the U.S. from the period 2000 to 2006, the initiative was the South, with 13 counties, followed by four in the West and three in the middle west.
