In buying an amplifier what properties should I look for?

I what to buy an ampliflier- to play music with my big speakers using my computer. What features tell me which ampliflier is better?

Amps are measured by power output or gain. You want a high gain amp, but you also want to be sure your speakers can handle the output without the distortion. so look for a high-gain/low distortion amp that will give you killer sound at a not-so-killer price
