Air Ham

Is it possible to install the older style ham can air cleaner on to a 2001 Road King?

I wanted a retro look for the bike and like the look of the older air cleaner over the oval shape of stock the air cleaner.

I am assuming you talking about a Sportster style ham can. Short answer, yes it can be done. You may need to fab some parts. I would look to get a used set up off ebay from sportster and then start making the parts you need.

Ham and Bean Soup can be found everywhere but rarely are they tasteful, mostly smooth and usually consist of the same ingredients. There are many who are unique twist and flavor that we want.

This "Smoked" Ham and Bean Soup has to touch one with a new taste to leave your mouth watering for more. So taking a breath of fresh air, because from now on will be a smoke-filled day with a delicious reward.

You will need:

1 Lb. Drybag Great Northern Beans
1 Hickory Smoked Ham Hock
2 tsp. Liquid Wright "Hickory Style" Aromas of smoke (found in spice aisle). I choose the Wright flavor of smoke over the other because the only ingredient added is water and it does not have that chemical taste.
1 tsp. Dry mustard
2 carrots, peeled and cubed
1 large red onion, peeled and chopped
2 Cloves garlic, peeled and chopped / minced
3 fresh tomatoes, seeded and diced
1 stalk celery, chopped
5 C. Chicken Broth
3 C. water
1 / 4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1 bay leaf
1 tsp. White pepper
OPTIONAL: 1 C. Cube Ham

1. First you need to soak the beans for 12 hours, I prefer to soak overnight.
This helps to drastically reduce the cooking time of grains to preserve the nutrients and to reduce the amount to digest the complex sugars that create "gas".
2. When you wake up the next morning you can filter and rinse beans.
3. Add the soaked and strained Great Northern Beans, 5 cups chicken broth 3 cups water 1 ham hock, carrots, parsley, tomato and 1 bay leaf in a large pot.
If you decide to use chopped ham, which is optional, then add now.
4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
5. After the pot simmer for about 20 minutes, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, onion, celery and 2 teaspoons of Style "Wright's Hickory Liquid smoke flavoring. Saute for 5 minutes.
6. Now add the contents of the skillet to the pot along with 1 teaspoon mustard powder powder and 1 teaspoon white pepper stir well and cook for another 45 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Note: You can pick the ham out of the ham hock and return to the ham and bean soup without the use of chopped ham. I prefer this method.

Now, for a few final touches to finish off your ham and bean soup.
